Fireworks and Family Fun

Looking for places to celebrate the 4th of July? Here you go...

July 3rd

McCormick Field – Fireworks after the Asheville Tourists game.  Start the week-end with fireworks at the Tourists game.  You should be able to see the fireworks from spots around town, but if you want to watch the game please check before going since tickets for these special games sell out quickly. 

July 4th

Pack Square – Ultimate Air Dogs from noon to 8pm.  There will be bouncy houses ($3 wristband allows kids to participate as often as they’d like), Splashville and activities from 2-6pm. Stage entertainment starts at 4pm.  No outside alcohol, coolers, or pets. There will be Food Trucks.  Fireworks begin at 9:30pm. Downtown Asheville

Lake JulianFireworks starts at dark but come early and bring a picnic.  I-26 to exit 37.  Turn left at the light onto Long Shoals Road

Montreat – Small town parade at 10:30am

Black Mountain – Family fun – street dance, face painting, a bounce house, magic, juggling and more.  5-9pm  

Bryson City – Old fashioned street festival begins at 10am with local music, crafts, dog show watermelon eating contest and hula hoop off.  Fireworks show at 10pm. Swain County (a little over a hour drive from Asheville)

Sylva – Music from 4-9:30 pm followed by fireworks. (about a 50 minute drive from Asheville)

Tryon International Equestrian Center – Saturday Night Lights.  Largest show jumping competition along with the kids fair, live band, face painters, shopping and more.  Competition starts at 7pm.  Admission and parking are free. Mill Spring, NC (a 50 minute drive from Asheville)

Hendersonville – Parade on Main Street at 10:30am, live music from 7-9:30pm at the Visitor Center. Fireworks at dark

Brevard – Fireworks at dark

Canton – Fireworks at dusk.  Come early as parking goes fast. Main Street, Canton

Cherokee – Fireworks over the Acquoni Expo Center at 10pm (a little over an hours drive from Asheville)

Fontana Village – Fireworks on the Village Green at 10pm

FranklinGames, Cornhole Tournament, Kid’s Fun Land, entertainment and food. Fireworks in the Macon County Recreation Park at dark (an hour and 15 minute drive from Asheville)

Lake JunaluskaFireworks at 9:30pm

Lake Lure – Fireworks at sundown

Maggie Valley – Entertainment, Food and Fun starting at 2, fireworks at 10pm

Weaverville – Music, food and fun at 5:30, fireworks over Lake Louise at dark

Waynesville – Kid’s Parade at 11am on Main St. Patriotic concert at 2pm on the courthouse lawn.

July 5th

Canton – Lots of music, great food and a Kids Zone. Fireworks at dusk.  Come early as parking goes fast.  6-10pm. Main Street, Canton
