Charlotte's Web with Asheville Creative Arts - Ticket giveaway TONIGHT

July 10, 2014

Asheville Creative Arts (ACA), the company that produced last summer’s hit musical, A YEAR WITH FROG AND TOAD, returns in July with an innovative and fanciful production of EB White’s classic, CHARLOTTE’S WEB.  Directed and choreographed by Robbie Jaeger, with a soundscape of original bluegrass inspired music composed and performed live by Jonesalee, plus puppets by Abby Felder, audiences will experience this beautiful story of friendship as never before.

CHARLOTTE’S WEB tells the memorable story of Fern, and her little pig Wilbur who becomes famous with the help of his clever friend Charlotte and their chatty animal neighbors.

Artistic Director Robbie Jaeger says that “CHARLOTTE’S WEB grows ACA’s creative vision, and we are very excited to integrate the original compositions and performances of Jonesalee, helmed by former Doubting Thomas members, Gina Stewart and Brenda Gambill, as part of the sound design and storytelling.”  Adds Producing Director Abby Felder “The book is dear to so many generations of readers, and will be lovingly dramatized by an incredible team. Audiences of all ages will be moved and delighted by this production.

CHARLOTTE’S WEB launches a new partnership with NC Stage, the professional theater in downtown Asheville, and will be presented as part of the Catalyst Series.  The production features a cast of local professional actors:  Maria Buchanan, Jenson Lavallee, Allen Law, Carin Metzger, Jenni Robinson, and David Sebren, and is stage managed by Jessica Tandy Kammerud.  The production team also includes light designer Catori Swann; costume designer Eric Grace; props by Chifferobe Home and Garden, and from New York City, set designer Gian Marco Lo Forte. Music will be performed live by Gina Stewart.
