Acting Classes for Your Child...Charlotte's Web

By sponsored July 24, 2014
Does your child like drama?  Would they like the opportunity to be part of a play named "the best American children's book of the past two hundred years"?  Asheville Community Theatre is offering the opportunity for your child to be part of the classic Charlotte's Web. Based on the book by E.B. White and adapted by Joseph Robinette all the enchanting characters are here:  Wilbur, the irresistible young pig who desperately wants to avoid the butcher; Fern, a girl who understands what animals say to each other; Templeton, the gluttonous rat who can occasionally be talked into a good deed, the Zuckerman family, the Arables and most of all, the extraordinary spider, Charlotte, who proves to be a "true friend and a good writer".  This is a beautiful, knowing play about friendship that will give actors a great opportunity.

Rehearsals begin Monday, August 25, 2014.  Open to students ages 7-13.  Classes meet every Monday and Wednesday afternoons from 4:30-6pm from August 25 to October 15.  From October 20-29, students will rehearse daily Monday-Thursday afternoons.

Scholarships are available.

Performances will be on the Mainstage on Thursday, October 30, at 7:30pm and Nov. 1 and 2 at 2:30pm.

Asheville Community Theatre is located at 35 E. Walnut St. Asheville.  Phone number is 828-254-1320.  For more information visit their website. Registration form can be found here.
