Play and Learn Classes for children 3-5 Registration begins on Sept. 2

Join Play & Learn for Preschoolers. Parents/caregivers and children ages 3-5 in Buncombe County who are not in licensed child care are invited to attend a series of free Play & Learn sessions. Each 45 minute session focuses on pre-literacy and school readiness skills for children and educational information for parents.  Activities include songs, puppets, movement, games, hands-on activities, and crafts.  Children who are new to the program receive a book each week. 

Where:  Mondays; Hominy Valley Elementary School, 9/8-11/3 at 9am; no class on 10/27
             Tuesdays; Asheville City Schools Preschool, 9/9-11/4 at 10am & 11am; no class 10/28
             Wed; Asheville City Schools Preschool, 9/10-10/29 at 10am and 11am
             Thursdays; Barnardsville Elementary School, 9/11-10/30 at 9am
             Thursdays; North Buncombe Elementary School, 9/11-10/30 at 10:30am
             Fridays; Leicester Elementary School, 9/12-11/7 at 9am; no class on 10/24

Who:  Children must be at least 3 years by class start date.

How:  Registration begins Sept 2 and is required before the class start date. Attendance is required at 5 of the 8 sessions.  Younger siblings are welcome to attend, but materials are not provided for them.
