Join Play & Learn for Preschoolers. Parents/caregivers and children ages 3-5 in Buncombe County who are not in licensed child care are invited to attend a series of free Play & Learn sessions. Each 45 minute session focuses on pre-literacy and school readiness skills for children and educational information for parents. Activities include songs, puppets, movement, games, hands-on activities, and crafts. Children who are new to the program receive a book each week.
Where: Family Resource Center, Asheville City Schools Preschool, 441 Haywood Road, West Asheville
Classes will also be offered at Hominy Valley, North Buncombe and Leicester Elementary Schools; Please call for specific dates and times.
When: Four groups will be offered:
Tuesday at 10am or 11am, Feb. 3-March 24
Wednesday at 10am or 11am, Feb. 4-March 25
Who: Children must be at least 3 years by class start date.
How: Registration begins Tuesday, January 20th and is required before the class start date. Attendance is required at 5 of the 8 sessions. Younger siblings are welcome to attend, but materials are not provided for them.
