For the past twenty years, Dancing Bear Toys has challenged kids to go seven days without using technology for entertainment. They offer free play days every day after school and a $5 gift card to kids who successfully complete the challenge. This year's challenge happens MAY 4-10, 2015.
This year, Dancing Bear Toys is turning it into a community effort! They have partnered with a dozen other local businesses and organizations to bring you the biggest and best Screen Free Week yet! Some businesses will offer special events during the week. Others will offer incentives to successful challengers. Some of the Screen Free Week partners include Neo Burrito, Ultimate Ice Cream, The Friends of the WNC Nature Center, and so many more!
How can you participate?
Stop into either Dancing Bear Toys location, 518 Kenilworth Rd, Asheville or 418 N. Main St, Hendersonville, to pick up your Screen Free starter pack. This includes a full page event schedule of activities during the week, and a bookmark to sign off that no screen media was used from May 4-10. Then, bring the bookmark back to Dancing Bear Toys and they will give you a special prize. It's that easy!
