Asheville Outlet Mall Grand Opening - Kid's Day on Sunday

Asheville Outlets has a full weekend of events planned for grand opening, beginning with Open Doors. Open Hearts. Charity Preview Night on Thursday, April 30th, and concluding with Kid's Day on Sunday, May 3rd. Thousands of shoppers are expected to visit the new, open-air outlet center located in Asheville, North Carolina for all the opening weekend festivities.

Open Doors. Open Hearts. is a special ticketed event that will give shoppers a sneak peek at stores like J. Crew Factory, Coach Outlet, Gap Factory Store, Ann Taylor Factory Store, Forever 21, Carter’s Babies & Kids and Under Armour the night before Asheville Outlets opens to the public. By purchasing a $20 ticket, customers can visit and shop at all the stores and enjoy live entertainment plus food and drink from local vendors. All proceeds from the ticket purchase supports 20 area non-profits, including Manna Food Bank, United Way of Asheville and Buncombe County, Pisgah Legal Services, Meals on Wheels of Asheville and Buncombe County and Charlie's Angels Animal Rescue. Many of the non-profits will also be on-site all weekend with interactive displays, including an animal adoption on Sunday.

Grand Opening Day on May 1st begins with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 9 a.m. Area elected officials, dignitaries and local business leaders will be on-site for the event, including Asheville Area Chamber of Commerce President Kit Cramer, Convention and Visitors Bureau Senior Vice President Stephanie Brown, and New England Development Chairman Stephen R. Karp. The Marine Corps League and the Asheville High School ROTC will present the colors and the Asheville High School Band will play the National Anthem.

Stores open to the public at 10 a.m. on May 1st, kicking off a full day of shopping and live entertainment, including local favorite Underhill Rose from 10 a.m. to noon.

The festivities continue on Saturday morning at 10 a.m., as stores will be open and shoppers will be treated to live music and other entertainment from area performers. Saturday’s big events include a "Looks for Less" fashion show with renowned stylist and TV personality, Carson Kressley.

The fun starts at noon on Sunday with Kid’s Day. Families can have fun all day shopping and enjoying balloon artists, face painters, jugglers, magicians and more. Local animal rescue organization Brother Wolfe will be hosting a puppy adoption and there will be live entertainment all afternoon, including performances from the kids at Asheville's Rock Academy. There will be photographers on-site to capture all the fun, as well as a special "selfie station" so shoppers and families can take their own shots.

There will be lots of exciting giveaways all weekend long, including the opportunity to register-to-win a 2015 Ford Mustang courtesy of Asheville Ford.
