Play and Learn for Infants and Toddlers

Parents/caregivers of children 3 months- 35 months in Buncombe County who are not in licensed child care are invited to attend a series of free Play & Learn sessions. There will be two infant (3-12 months) and two toddler (13-35 months) series offered.

Each 45 minute session focuses on pre-literacy skills for children and educational information for parents.  Activities include songs, puppets, dance, games, hands-on activities, music instruments, and crafts. Children who are new to the program receive a book each week.

Registration is required and begins for new participants on February 23rd. Returning participants may register beginning February 25th. Attendance is required at a minimum of 5 sessions. Infant (3-12months) sessions will be offered:

    When:  Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m., March 3rd-April 28th,

    Where:  Asheville City Schools Preschool, 441 Haywood Road, Asheville

    When:  Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m., March 4th- April 29th

    Where:   Trinity Episcopal Church, 60 Church St, Asheville

Toddler (13-23 months) sessions will be offered:

    When: Thursdays at 10:00 a.m., March 5th-April 30th   And also at 11 a.m., March 5th- April 30th

    Where:  Asheville City Schools Preschool, 441 Haywood Road, Asheville

Play & Learn is a program of Smart Start of Buncombe County and Asheville City Schools Preschool, with support from the Kiwanis Club of Asheville and iplay.
