Butterfly Festival at the Dunwoody Nature Center

August 10, 2017

With school starting in just a few weeks wouldn’t it be fun to have a last minute weekend away with the family?  The Dunwoody Butterfly Festival is happening soon, Saturday, August 19, and may be just the thing for a quick getaway.  Dunwoody, Georgia is less than a four-hour drive from Asheville and the Butterfly Festival is a treat for the whole family.  There will be three enormous Butterfly tents – each filled with hundreds of live butterflies, as well as a Birds of Prey show, live animal encounters, games, educational booths, craft, music, food and drinks.  Sounds like a great way to have the family enjoy a day outside away from the phones and computers.

Tickets can be pre-purchased until August 13.  Pre-purchasing your timed entry tickets is the only way to guarantee a convenient time for the butterfly tent.  Tickets (and more information) can be found here

Please make sure to arrive early.  Guests should allot at least 30 minutes prior to their tent entry time to park and take the shuttle to the festival. There is so much to do in the park outside of the butterfly tents that will keep guests entertained so come early and stay late!
