MacKid Asheville recently asked if you had any baking questions! We selected two questions to be answered! This week's questions were answered by Amy's Bakery!

Q: If someone was interested in getting into Baking where would you recommend they start?  A specific item that no one can mess up on?  Any baking book recommendations?

A: I am actually a self taught baker and entrepreneur! I began looking at recipes on Pinterest and used them as guidelines to come up with some of my own recipes. One of my favorite resources to use for tips and tricks is Blueprint.com. This website has a free trial where you can explore, but it also has a monthly membership of $8.95 to get full access to the videos. I love to go there to learn new techniques!!

I don't know if there is anything in particular that people "can't mess up" because everyone has different abilities. Something that I would say is a great crowd pleaser and fairly simple is a no-bake cheesecake!

Q:What is the easiest thing to bake but makes me look like I spent hours making?

A: My favorite quick treat is chocolate dipped shortbread cookies! Only 5 ingredients, 10 minute cook time, and you can make them in 30 minutes and they always look glamorous! Top it off with a chocolate Drizzle or some chopped pecans for an extra touch!

Amy Sue Eliason started baking when financial times were hard. She made amazing cinnamon rolls and decided to sell them and spread the love. She made dozens of cinnamon rolls per week and it paid the bills. She decided to teach herself more advanced techniques with all forms of baking. Amy began manipulating recipes and creating amazing flavors for cakes and cookies and practiced piping techniques on random treats for her children. Now Amy is a self-made master at her trade. "When you put your heart into something, anything is possible," she says. Order your own delicious treats or find out more about Amy's Bakery here.
