What Moms Really Want

A Mother's Day Request

By By Moms Everywhere May 9, 2019

Moms, you can accidentally (on purpose) share this post with your spouse. You know, before Sunday.

So, I asked my Facebook Mom friends what they want for Mother's Day and I collected what they said to share with you here. The answers are eye-opening. Do you know what Moms want most? They want a break. They want you to say, "I've got this babe." And then they can do what they want with their day--you know like they used to do once upon a time. Of course, their Moms, so they still want time with you and the kids, but they want a day off from the WORK of all of it. That's my take. Or as one stay-at-home Mom brilliantly shared, "Nothing about my day is mine." This Mother's Day, let's let something about the day be all about Mom and what she wants.

To be alone.

For their partner's to plan Mother's Day, not them.

A day to do what they want with ...

Sleep.

A family photo session and cake.

No cooking or cleaning.

A love letter from the kids.

Everyone to be healthy.

Breakfast in bed.

Breakfast in bed with coffee.

Annual pass to The Biltmore Estate.

Quality family time and time alone.

A massage.

Dinner out.

Brunch.

Someone else does the laundry.

Someone else cleans the house.

Or, you hire someone to clean the house.

Time spent with grown kids.

A day off Mom duty.

A pedicure.

A day off from diaper changing.

Anything I don't have to plan myself.

Reading on the back porch.

YES, to all of this!
