Review:

Close to downtown Asheville, you'll find the Stephens-Lee Recreation Center and two accompanying playgrounds.

On the far side of the parking lot, you will find the smaller playground that is fully fenced, including a gate. This is a really nice feature as you can have a little more peace of mind with your little ones running around. There are picnic tables and a toddler play set.

There are two infant swings and two regular swings. The fence backs up to a basketball court where you can practice your dribbling and shooting skills.

Crossing the parking lot to the other side, you will find the slightly larger playground that my daughter was extremely relieved to find featured slides. Contrary to the other playground, this one is fully open and not fenced.

There are fun curvy monkey bars, a spiral slide, and various ways to climb up to the top.  There are benches, picnic tables, more swings, and another toddler play set.

One of the more unique features on the playground that stood out to me was two different learning Braille boards.  One featured the letters of the alphabet and the other was a large analog clock. This could be a fun hands-on way to practice telling time with your child!
