Review:
This goal I've set of visiting a new playground each week has been so fun! It has encouraged us to explore more of Buncombe County and what all it has to offer. We accidentally stumbled upon this park on what was supposed to just be a trip to a new library and we were certainly in for a treat!
Located next to the Swannanoa library, you'll find this older playground that still provides a great time. Your child can enjoy climbing their way up to the various slides or balancing across the stepping stones.
There are monkey bars, a rocker, and a zip line track. If you look closely, you can see a portion of the story walk. It is an amazing idea where pages from a children's book are posted along a path to incorporate both physical movement along with reading a story.
There is a blue truck that my kids enjoyed pretending to drive along with a sandbox. Notice the green house shaped box behind it? That's a little free library that operates on a take a book, share a book concept.
There are two regular swings beside two infant swings. Behind them is a large field with soccer goals set up, benches to sit and rest, and tables to enjoy a picnic lunch.
There is also a small covered picnic pavilion with a tire swing.
There is even a small section where you can practice shooting hoops.
As we were preparing to leave, I took this picture because I was in awe of the beauty of the mountains in the distance. I never want to take for granted this beautiful area in which we call home. This section of the park is geared more towards adults with exercise equipment including pull up and parallel bars along with a stage and benches for outside performances.
