Escape the Cold and Rainy Days at Sunny Day!

Come check out this new indoor play space in South Asheville

No matter the weather outside, it's always going to be a "Sunny Day" at this new South Asheville indoor play space that is perfect for year round fun! Whether the slides are wet on the playground, you need to check some emails while your child stays busy, or you are simply looking for a place to play away from home, Sunny Day is the perfect escape!

It's a great opportunity for kids to interact and socialize with others in their age group while parents can maybe make a friend or two as well!

Immediately upon entering the building, you're greeted with a warm and inviting mural of a large sun on the wall coupled with hanging clouds. It's a cheery atmosphere with great attention to detail. I liked how it is very clean with an open concept that makes it easy to keep an eye on your child.

Speaking of clean, they pride themselves on only using natural, botanical based cleaning products.

Before playing, kids and adults are asked to place their shoes on the rack and wear socks as Sunny Day is a shoe-free environment. Notice even the adorable sun mat fits in perfectly with their theme.

There is a safe gated area for children ages 2 and under. There is an interactive caterpillar providing lots of tactile play, tumbling mats, a mirror, and a low shelf with more toy/manipulative options.

Many of the toys are Montessori which are perfect for helping to develop their fine motor skills. My son was particularly attached to the carrot box which is great way to practice hand-eye coordination. I found myself admiring the neutral confetti play mat that was very aesthetically pleasing.

Stepping further in, there's pretend grass that is comfortable to walk across and adds to the nature themed play space. There are various play houses, climbing pieces, a grocery store, a pirate ship, and the highlight is a gorgeous, wooden CedarWorks castle.

The cuteness of this piece is best observed in person. There are various ways to climb up, in, and under this wooden jungle gym that features two slides of varying heights. I can still picture the huge grin on my son's face as he enjoyed sliding down the smaller slide alongside his sister who was just the right size for the larger one. There was even a pulley system making it the perfect opportunity for a quick little lesson on simple machines!

There are clear bins organized with more toys to let your child's imagination run wild including magnetic tiles, a Melissa & Doug wooden barn, vehicles, and more!

Don't worry if you forget to pack that diaper bag full as Sunny Day has truly thought of everything. They have a small sampling of healthy snacks and beverages available for purchase along with a high chair available for use for little ones. All food and drinks must be consumed at the tables away from the designated play spaces.

Additionally, they even have a selection of toys available for purchase as well.
