I think one of the toughest parts of being an adult is the constant "what's for dinner" dilemma. Even though I don't mind grocery shopping and I actually like to cook, every now and then I want a break! The constant meal planning, grocery trip runs, trying out new recipes, and the never ending dishes can be exhausting. Thankfully, a Google search helped me discover Asheville Pro Kitchen, and now I look forward to our meal delivery days knowing I can spend more time playing with the kids and less time busy in the kitchen.
Asheville Pro Kitchen is a local meal delivery subscription service. Dustin Orofino, the owner, has extensive experience as a chef in a variety of restaurants ranging from New York City steakhouses to Italian restaurants on the West Coast. Now proud to call Asheville his home, his business concept is perfect for busy parents. Once the kids are in bed, in the comfort of your pajamas, go to their website and browse their menu. Select what meals you want, how many, and which delivery days. They'll do the rest!!
They prepare and cook the food, do the dishes, and best of all, they deliver it right to your doorstep (either home or office).
Similar to going out to eat at a restaurant, each person in the family could have an entirely different meal to accommodate different tastes. I chose to do a mixture of two different meals that seemed most enticing to my family and their likes. I selected the BBQ pulled pork with cauliflower mashed potatoes and turnip greens along with the marinated grilled chicken with pesto pasta.
They arrived at our doorstep in an insulated lunchbox with igloo packs inside. Once it was time for dinner, I popped them in the microwave for 2 minutes and then transferred to a plate.
We selected the "regular" size, although there is also a "portion plus" size, and it was just right. My husband especially liked the greens, and I couldn't get enough of the cauliflower mashed potatoes. I could eat them by the tub load.
My kids seemed to prefer the pasta dish, as I knew they would -- noodles for the win always ha! My 5 year old daughter called it "delicious," and my toddler was saying "more, me", "more, me" in between bites, as he was a big fan of the chicken.
Not only is this local and healthy meal delivery service perfect for busy families, but think of how kind it would be to gift this service to someone who has recently brought home a newborn or someone recovering from surgery or home sick.
