Review:
Embrace the mess was the theme of today's playground visit. Having arrived after several days of heavy rains, the playground was quite muddy but still provided a fun time.

My kids always gravitate towards the sandbox at playgrounds, but this one seemed very thoughtfully designed. It was completely shaded from the sun with a bench right next to it (also shaded) and filled with various trucks and toys to borrow. I thought to myself, "A parent who has spent some several hours on a playground clearly designed this."

There were various swings.

There are monkey bars as well as a climbing tunnel. In the background of this photo, notice the bright and colorful area to ride tricycles/bicycles or simply run around.

There is an awesome pump track that is truly the highlight of this park.

From the stepping logs to the climbing walls, this section kept my two little ones quite busy.

The sink was filled with mud and my daughter promptly began using a ladle to scoop it up and fill up the muffin tin. I was watching her become dirtier by the second, but she was so filled with glee. I can remember as a kid having so much fun digging in the dirt and making mud pies.
As a parent, I find it can be so hard to watch your child actively getting dirty, and not rush in and immediately put a halt to it. Discovery is such an important aspect of childhood, and I'm grateful my two remind me that it's okay to make a mess sometimes. Put on your rain boots, jump in the puddles, and have some fun. Just be sure to pack wipes, paper towels, and a change of clothes in the car.
