Optional extra half hour for "open studio"Description
A playful and welcoming mixed media morning of art, creativity & movement for girls ages 6-8, led by local arts & yoga teacher, Emma Berger Singer (owner of Asheville Kids Yoga & Art). This class is designed to introduce basic yoga practices and techniques in mixed media art within a community atmosphere. We will do individual as well as collaborative art.
Emma will begin each session by leading the group through a yoga experiences that integrates postures with breath work and affirmations. The remainder of the morning will be full of opportunities for the girls to explore and learn art techniques, with each week introducing a different type of medium. Children will be supported and encouraged to express their unique creative voices while learning new possibilities with the mediums.
June 11: Watercolors Wonders: wet into wet & wet into dry techniques
June 18: Acrylics paints & color mixing- children will bring home a custom color this day
June 25: Collage Collaborations part 1: mixed media, individual collage & a group collage
July 9: Pastel Possibilities: chalk pastels & oil pastels
July 16: Collage Collaborations part 2: mixed media, individual collage & a group collage
