June 12-13, 2015: Blue Ridge BBQ & Music Festival, Tryon – music, arts and crafts, kids fun park, and of course BBQ.  More than 80 cook teams compete.

June 13, 2015: Appalachian Lifestyle Celebration, Waynesville – traditional crafts are demonstrated and offered for sale, music, cloggers and traditional Appalachian food.

July 11, 2015: Coon Dog Day Festival ,Saluda – A celebration for dogs and their people – music, parade, crafts, street dance

July 9-12 2015:  Grandfather Mountain Highland Games, Near Linville – Modeled after games in Scotland it includes Scottish athletic events, sheep herding, kilted miles, children’s events, Scottish country dancing, harps, Clan Tugs-of-war.   

July 17, 2015; Watermelon Day; WNC Farmer’s Market – Free samples of melons, and watermelon seed spiting contest and a watermelon eating contest for the kids.

July 6-26, 2015; Folkmoot Festival, WNC – a celebration of the world’s cultural heritage through folk music and dance. 

July 17-19, 2015;  Spruce Pine BBQ and Bluegrass; Spruce Pine - BBQ competition, bluegrass, cornhole tournament, clogging, artists and craft vendors, 5K and fun run, kids activities and more.

August 7-8, 2015; Mt. Mitchell Crafts Fair, Burnsville – “Oldest and largest” crafts fair in the Blue Ridge.

August 8-9, 2015; Sourwood Festival, Black Mountain – street festival.

September 4-7, 2015 ; NC Apple Festival; Hendersonville – 4 days of fun with one of the best known Street Fairs in the Carolinas, Apples, arts and crafts, free entertainment and festival food.  Children’s area.

Sept. 5-6, 2015; Mile High Kite Festival; Beech Mountain – demonstrations of flying techniques, kite clinics and build your own kites.  Free kites will be given to the first 300 children under the age of 13. Clinics and build your own kites.
